Tingle RPG commercial hits the net

Ever since we heard about the Tingle RPG for the Nintendo DS, we've been oh so very curious about how this game would turn out. Now that there's a commercial up showing how it runs, we have to say, it looks like it will be a pretty fun game to play.

If you're unfamiliar with Tingle RPG, here's a brief rundown from IGN:

A new RPG featuring the floating fool from recent entries in the Legend of Zelda series. You play as the Wind Waker/Majora's Mask treasure specialist when he was 35 and single, before his transformation into Tingle form. The main character gets word that he ought to head out to a spring. He does so, and along the way, he comes in contact with Rupeeji, a name that can be translated to Old Man Rupee. Rupeeji tells the main character that by collecting rupees and throwing them at the spring, he'll be lead to the dream land of Rupee Land. He accepts the quest and, through a magic spell, gets transformed into Tingle. Tingle has a guide in the game, a girl fairy called Pingle.

Corny? Anyone? Floating fool changes to Tingle. He has a fairy called Pingle. People play this?!?! Here in the U.S.?!?! (I understand in other countries, JAPAN, girls dress up like Hello Kitty)

good point, cage. these silly japanese games never sell here in the USA. look at these bombs like katamari and locoroco... you'd think after so few people buying these things, they'd just stop localizing them...

The US lives on FPS right now. Bullets, blood, explosions, etc. I have a feeling that this cutesy stuff will be popular again in about 5 to 10 years, though.

While I'm looking for more RPGs on my DS, I dunno if this is the answer. Honestly, this looks like a very contrived attempt to be weird and "out there". While love the Big N, I never thought they were any good in the "funny" department (And no, Partners in Time was not funny in the least). But I'll give it a shot anyways...someday.

So thats it. You just generalize the ENTIRE United States of America in one sentence then leave it alone. Billions of people generalized as FPS shooters (Why would an American want the PS3?). How easy some things are...

I can't say I ever liked Tingle to begin with, but I'm seriously hoping Tingle's Freshly-Picked Rose-Colored Rupee Land makes its way to America (crazy name, intact).

Next up: Pingle RPG. Its also worth wondering if tingle is the infistructure that holds the games together. We know there are many diffrent generations of Links...

Well, to be fair, America as a whole does tend to love violence and over-the-top machismo. Especially those too young for M-ratings.

General rule of life: You spend the first twenty years of your life wishing you were older, and the other sixty wishing you were young again.

Second general rule: Enjoy the simple pleasures in life, such as intentially over-the-top fagitude.
