Haha – wow! That says it all about Home, doesn't it?!

Luckily for me I'm not really affected as I don't own a PS3, but if I did I could see myself quite miffed. Especially if this was one of the features that convinced me to dive into PS3land.
To be Pollyannaish about it, maybe it's because of all the beta feedback and their desire to have a really polished experience prepared before they go live. Let's hope it's that.

almost everything for the ps3 is delayed until next year

If they launch this and people don't really get into the service it will have cost them a lot.

Every time you hear something about the PS3, the words "delay" are almost always in the title. That wouldn't make me want to buy a PS3. "PS3" is becoming synonymous with "delay". That's not good for business. Especially when your installed base has been waiting patiently for this so-called revolution in gaming that you promised them almost two years ago.

I know people have favorites for this gen already but there is still a long way to go. and with videogames cititing constantly growing earnings second or third in the console race may still be fairly profitable.
And I'm getting sick of people ignoring games like HSG5, Uncharted, and R&C. All the fanboys act like like that since Lair flopped the PS3 has nothing worth playing this fall... which is simply untrue. Those 3 are near the top of my wish list for this holiday.
So I gotta ask, what the fuck are you smoking?

1. I haven't checked in a while, but right now, Home is update-less. Home is boring in its current incarnation.
HOWEVER!
2. Having played the beta, I can definitely see Home's potential and am very excited for it. Games like Armored Core 4, with the awful online interface, will be given new life by the Game Lobbies that have not yet been implemented.
I can tell you this: When HOME goes live, it will be something to behold. For now, just be relieved they're taking the time to deliver on what they've promised...(hopefully).

Until it's pressed and in consumer hands, it doesn't exist. Even in Beta form it doesn't mean it will ship.

Let's see...
Game lobbies, matchmaking & trophies - Hardcore gamers.
Free mini-games - Casual gamers.
DRESS and socialising - Females.
All they need is a Bingo Hall for the old folks, and they're set.
The latter part is especially relevant, considering the majority of female gamers playing WoW are just as likely to be using it as a glorified chat room.
Very few females are going to spend 400-600$ for a glorified chat room......
As I said.....it isn't a selling point for the system. Its a perk.....but it isn't a selling point to any specific demographic except for a former Second Life User who wants no dicks flying everywhere.
On the ps3, more often than not, the games either are delayed or sub-standard when compared to the 360.
Yes, the ps3 may have the *potential* to do this or that better than the 360, but if takes 3 years longer than the 360 to come out with titles that make buying the ps3 worth it then those that only bought a ps3 would have wasted 3 years waiting, and waiting.
Potential is nice, though. Just wait...

I think you brought up a great point. I can see a bunch of chicks getting this so they can all go on and dress up and chat about their weekend shopping. It's like WoW but for trendy little teemagers.

Home will be a bunch of Fat dudes, dudes with no life, dudes that have no chance in real life of getting a "real" girl and Dudes acting like females in Home talking to you!
Everyone will look cool, dress cool and have a girl (thats a dude) in Home.. WOW.
Looks like Home will sell some PS3's...LMAO!!
Seriously, Home is not Myspace or Facebook. Female will NOT flock to the PS3 to play Home.. WTFU -and thats WAKE TFU.
Home will set up to fail... horribly.

Yes, I understand there are games on the PS3 worthwhile, but even then, none truly stand out.
Home was something.
Now it's delayed, as most everything else that has any potential to pull the PS3 out of its slump, and the PS3 is still just a BluRay player with Resistance.
